Eat well during celebrationsFestivities and celebrations can bring out our worst eating habits. Binge eating on sweets endlessly, often leaves us regretting at the end of it all. However, being a little conscious about what we eat can spare us that extra weight gain. Eating in small portions and staying hydrated can reduce chances of putting on some weight. Rupali 'Sim' Vaid, founder of Be Fitastic Fitness centre, shares how to stay toned:

Keep a watch on your calorie intake

Take a step back when you get closer to your maximum calorie intake value. In fact, the more you eat healthy, the better you body will be fueled with energy.

Stay hydrated

Don't skip drinking water, especially if you are running around. Keep your hydration levels up. Low levels of hydration may encourage you to drink more of sweetened drinks when offered and keep your metabolism rate stagnant.

Eat small portions

Declining sweets or fried food can be difficult during celebrations so you rather taste the sweets than eating to your heart's content. Eat smaller meals frequently instead of eating a huge meal once or twice. Space out your meals with at least an interval of 3 hours. Try and choose healthy snacks as an when possible.

Make up for your missed workout

You should plan your workout well for the days you are unable to give much time to it. Keep a well thought out short and intense home workout handy for days you don't get enough physical activity or miss your gym schedule. Include exercises such as push-ups, leg lifts, crunches and jumps.
