Heatwave Alert In India: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a fresh weather alert on Thursday, warning that temperatures across several parts of India are expected to change in the upcoming days. The weather department has stated that the temperature is expected to soar past 42 C to 43 C in the coming days.

"The month of May in most parts of the country is expected to see higher-than-usual temperatures, with the northwest, central and some eastern areas likely to face more heatwave days than normal," the IMD said.

In its latest weather bulletin, the IMD highlighted that states including Rajasthan, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, and parts of Maharashtra are on high alert as they are expected to witness continued heatwave to severe heatwave conditions. Cities like Delhi, Nagpur, and Jaipur are already experiencing above-normal temperatures, and the situation is expected to worsen in the coming week.
