Healthy kiwi and chia seed lollies you can make at home to beat the heat this summer

This quick ice-lolly recipe will make summers easy breezy for you!

It is summer already. Time to begin the lookout for foods that can save us from the scorching heat outside. Usually, during summers, people tend to compromise with their diet and binge on cooler food items that are unhealthy. (Read: Summer diet tips and sample plan). While it is not always recommended to eat or drink extremely chilled foods and drinks when you are right under the sun because the drastic fluctuation in temperature might affect your health, especially people with sinus, but when you are at home you can treat yourself with something cool yet healthy.

If you are someone who likes to savour ice-lollies during summer, here's a tried and tested healthy recipe using kiwi and chia seeds or sabja that you must try. Health benefits of chia seeds aren't unknown and kiwi is an extremely healthy fruit, packed with nutrients, you'll reap the benefits of them both in a delicious treat. Instead of having store-bought ice-creams and lollies that are loaded with sugar and preservatives, try this.

  • Sliced kiwis: 2
  • Honey 2 Tsp
  • Chilled water- 2 glass
  • Chia seeds soaked: half a bowl
  • Vanilla essence(optional): 2-3 drops

Method:

  • In a big mixing bowl or jug, pour 2 glasses of chilled water.
  • Add honey and chia seeds to it.
  • Stir well until honey mixes with the water.
  • Add chia seeds to it and mix well.
  • Add vanilla essence and mix well, if using.
  • Now take a popsicle, lolly mould and place slices of kiwi each in every mould.
  • Pour the mix into the mould and put it into the freezer
  • De-mould it in a few hours and enjoy.
