1. Actor-fitness enthusiast, Milind Soman set to host an amazing adventure reality show I Can You Can , which will encourage viewers to quit smoking. And we all would too like to urge you to stick to your new year resolution of quitting smoking as it causes cancer of the nose, mouth, voice box, trachea, oesophagus, stomach, pancreas, kidneys, bladder, cervix, bone marrow and blood.
2. Khushboo, a 9-year-old girl from an underprivileged family got treated for her tilted neck that was causing a lot of pain. She got this expensive surgery as a gift from the doctors of Indian Spinal Injuries Center
3. With a motive to eradicate tuberculosis (TB) on the lines of polio, the Union Health Ministry launched a 15-day nationwide door-to-door campaign for early and better diagnosis of the infectious disease.
4. Union Health and Family Welfare Minister J.P. Nadda declared India to be free of Infective Trachoma. This has been leading cause of infectious blindness among children in India.
5. Another great move was made by the health ministry of India. Changes were made to the law and it restricted the usage of terms like 'fresh', 'natural', 'traditional' and 'original' in advertisements for food products. Now according to the rules by the Food Safety and Standards (Advertisement and Claims) Regulation, the term 'fresh' can only be applied to products which have not been processed in any manner.
6. In the month of November, the environment minister of Maharashtra, Ramdas Kadam set a goal of completely banning plastic carry bags in Maharashtra. This step once executed completely will be a big favour for the state of Maharashtra.
7. This year, a new research found out that could help regrow heart muscles after a heart attack. A person surviving a heart attack suffers from dramatic loss heart muscle cells and this gel could offer hope in this case.
