Google on Tuesday honoured Indian-American biochemist and Nobel laureate Har Gobind Khorana known as the first scientist to chemically synthesise DNA molecules with a doodle marking his 96th birth anniversary. Khorana was born in Raipur which is Kabirwala in present-day Pakistan. He was the youngest of five children. His father Ganpat Rai Khorana worked as a taxation clerk in the British Indian administration. The Khoranas were the only literate family in the village with nearly 100 people.
