Halloween is one day that gives you a chance to be at your ‘supernatural’ or ‘vampire’ best. It’s the time to live your ‘heroic’ life for a couple of hours as you sport deep red lips with dramatic eyes and nailpaints. We tell you how you can look ‘Halloween ready’ with some simple make-up tips: Also Read - 7 reasons why the #BeefBan is good

Fun Halloween ideas

You can go all out with your make-up once you know how dramatic you want to look or the character you want to don. Preferably, give some time to figure out what hero or character you relate to best. You could consider options like the very easy and basic vampire look with deep red lips and dark eyes. You could experiment with characters like Avtaar’s ‘Katara’, Frozen’s ‘Elsa’, the zombie bride, the peacock queen, the gypsy girl, the warrior princess, the mad hatter, the alien beauty queen.

The simpler options would include a bronzed lioness, Red Riding Hood, ‘Bambi,’ Cat Woman. You could also go the unconventional way by dressing up like celebrities such as Marilyn Monroe, Charlie Chaplin, Frieda Kahlo, Che Guerra, Bob Marley among others.

Dramatic Halloween eyes

Any look is incomplete without doing up the eyes. Eyes are simply your most important feature. Eye make-up can transform your look from that of a zombie, vampire, cat woman or even the ‘black swan’ in an instant.

Make-up artist Twisha Ganjoo explains, ‘The best and the sure shot way to give your make-up an eerie Halloween effect would be to start off with a dark cat eyeliner. Proceed with colouring the full eyelid with a covering eyeshadow. You can choose from grey, black, teal, navy, olive, metallic colours like copper or reds. For people with a tad bit of practice in make-up, I would also recommend going for a pair of very dramatic extra-long lashes in colours like dark green or blue.’ Know of the trendiest eye and lip colours this season, here.

Lip colours for Halloween

Lips are another highlighting factor you should be particular about. After your eyes, lips help add character to your attire. Twisha suggests, ‘The quintessential dark look for Halloween never goes out of style. You can either look glamourous or ghoulish. Colours like matte black, oxblood, mysterious pale whites or light yellows, bright greens, metallic golds and silvers too. All these colours might not be available in a lipstick form, but one can always pick an eyeshadow palette and get experimental with any colour you like.’

How to the achieve the classic look for the night

If you are in a rush or think its inconvenient to arrange for an elaborate look, then you can choose to play safe with the all-time Halloween favourite, zombie look with a twist of your own. Twisha says, ‘By far the easiest look to sport for Halloween is the zombie look. Easy in terms of costume as well as make-up.

‘To get started, you will simply need the lightest colour of foundation or base along with some white body paint. Some purple and blue eyeshadow and a sponge to shade areas around your eyes and mouth could give your face the dead look. Once done, rub the white body paint on your hands and feet, put on some tattered clothes and spray some red paint on your T-shirt for an added effect. And you are ready to do the zombie-walk around town!’
