She removes his access to social media apps and even changes his passwords because she doesn't want the public to see him during an episode.
She watches for specific warning signs like withdraw from conversation, refusal to eat or sleep, or texting behaviour are some of the signs she keeps track of.
Not just this, but when she is able to identify these signs, she takes actions that are required like addressing him by saying, " That's not how you speak to your wife , You're sick". Which triggers him to snap out of the moment.
Something surprising that she revealed was that she had witnessed episodes, even before they were married and accepted early on that.
Gucci's Schizophrenia story is important to us because it brings visibility to this disorder with a high profile celebrity context which often carries stigma. The rapper has said that by sharing the story, he hopes to encourage others to seek help. Not only this, but the way he is been supported by his wife also, send out the message that how taking an active role in supporting someone with this is important especially when it is your family member. It also highlights the fact that treatment for the same and early diagnosis is also very important so that a person can make lifestyle adjustments. This very important to normalise this conversation and encourage others to seek the help for the same without any stigma and such stories of high profile celebrities are really important for us to break any stereotype.
Overall, despite external support it is recommendable that he also takes care of himself in managing the symptoms by therapy, medication and lifestyle choices, and his remarks about doing the work himself something that stands out. If you are someone who is facing the symptoms, then it is really important to seek help of medical professional as soon as possible.
