The new Bollywood entry Bhumi Pedneker has been in the news for two reasons now. One, the stupendous success of her film Dum Laga Ke Haisha, and second, Bhumi who weighed 87 kilos during the filming of the movie is now 21 kilos lighter. In just four months, after production wrapped up, Bhumi managed to pull off such a drastic transformation. Let us take a sneak peek on how she managed to shed those kilos.

Diet

The most effective diet for weight loss is nothing but one that is low in calories. However, making dietary changes was never a challenge for Bhumi. She sticked to her favourite home-cooked meals and piled up on fruit and vegetable juices. The actress also boosted her intake of fibre and made sure she snacked on a bowl of salad with lunch. She eats missi rotis made of chane ka atta that goes a long way in cutting down her calories. To beat food cravings, Bhumi helps herself with a bowl more of dal or yogurt. She also consumes a lot of green vegetables such as kale and spinach that are loaded with antioxidants and are a great way to detoxify the body. This diet plan by an expert dietician will aid in quick weight loss.

Exercise

The actress lost kilos in the first month itself, which boosted her morale. She then started hitting the gym regularly to stay in shape. Bhumi starts her day with a morning walk and sometimes converts the walk into a sprint to keep in shape. At the gym, she does about 15 minutes of cardio followed by 40 minutes of weight training. Weight was not a problem for Bhumi, as the actress says being a plump girl almost all her life she has always been comfortable in her skin.Bhumi therefore went slow and gradual on her weight loss without making any drastic changes in her lifestyle. She is a night person and continued to go to bed at 1 am, after watching her favourite television shows like Big Bang Theory and Two and a Half men. Although she slept late, she ensured that she woke up by 7:30 in the morning for her morning walk. Whenever she felt too sleepy, she took a 20-minute power nap during the day to revive herself.
