Lucknow Reports First Dengue Death Of 18-Year-Old Amid Rising Cases

Dengue cases have been surging in Lucknow for the past week and now an 18-year-old has succumbed to it while receiving treatment in hospital. This has sparked concerns among both officials and residents.

Lucknow officially recorded its first dengue death this season. This has sparked concern among officials and residents. An 18-year-old resident of Lucknow city, Shreyansh Srivastava reportedly died while receiving treatment for dengue in a hospital. Earlier this week, at least three dozen people in Lucknow had tested positive for dengue virus. The total number of cases reported from the state capital have reached 284 this year. Most of the cases were reported in the months of August and September however, the first death case has sparked concerns among residents and officials of Lucknow.

As per reports the patient who succumbed tp dengue fever in Lucknow was suffering from high fever and joint pain for a very long time. He dies while receiving treatment at a privet hospital on Thursday. He was then taken to Balrampur hospital where he finally tested negative for dengue.

He Passed Away Due To Dengue Shock Syndrome, Says Reports

After he tested negative for dengue, his condition began to worsen, as per reports. He was immediately taken to the private hospital in Gomtinagar. Doctors conducted two advanced tests, NS1 antigen and IgM and IgG antibodies which confirmed dengue virus in the man. Doctors say that he was put on ventilation and intensive care however his cause of death of dengue shock syndrome.

27 Fresh Cases Reported On Thursday

Along with one death, the state capital has reported 27 fresh cases this week. Cases have been recorded in: Indiranagar (5), Turiyaganj (2), Chandranagar (4), Aliganj (4), Sarojininagar (3), Chinhat (3), NK Road (2), Silver Jubilee and Aishbagh (2).
