Cristiano Ronaldo limped out of Portugal’s training session on Thursday and left the pitch with an ice-pack on his knee. Team-mate Joao Moutinho however said that Ronaldo would be fit: ‘Ever since he started to train with us he has been 100% like the rest of us. Everything is fine with him but there is some caution, not only with him. Many other players were using ice as well. There is nothing to worry about. The ice is normal after training.’ Ronaldo was hampered by injury problems in the final weeks of the season but was present in Real’s run to the UEFA Champions League final and even scored in the final against city rival Atletico Madrid. The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) confirmed he was suffering from tendinosis in the region around his left kneecap on 4 June. It would be extremely sad to see Ronaldo miss out because to really take his place among the immortals of football, he needs a big World Cup. At 29, he’s at the peak of his powers and the next World Cup in four years time might be too late to leave his mark on the greatest tournament in the planet. Ghanaian witch doctor to blame for Ronaldo’s injury?

A witch doctor from Ghana claims he’s behind the series of injuries ailing Real Madrid star Cristiano Ronaldo. Nana Kwaku Bosnam, ‘Ghana’s most influential witch doctor’ according to The Guardian predicted Ronaldo would miss the World Cup shortly after Ghana was drawn in the same group as Portugal, United States and Germany. ‘I know what Cristiano Ronaldo’s injury is about, I’m working on him,’ Bonsam told a local radio station according to The Guardian. He also claimed that the injury couldn’t be cared by a medic.

‘This injury can never be cured by any medic, they can never see what is causing the injury because it is spiritual. Today, it is his knee, tomorrow it is his thigh, next day it is something else. I am very serious about it. Last week, I went around looking for four dogs and I got them to be used in manufacturing a special spirit called Kahwiri Kapam.’
