A Class 10 pass-out student in Pandharpur, Maharashtra was caught running a fake clinic for more than three years without any medical qualifications. The accused has been identified as Dattatraya Sadashiv Pawar. According to news reports, he has been posing as a doctor and treating patients for more than three years. He has reportedly treated patients with very serious conditions like diabetes, bone disorders, etc. He has no necessary credentials to practice medicine; the individual has been arrested, as per reports.
As per media reports, the quack had completed a brief four-day training in Satara and he used this as a base to start his own clinic. He also reportedly charged 500 rupees per consultation and was visited by about 70 to 80 patients every day.
News reports also states that the accused had begun to expand his business by posing as a qualified doctor without any medical qualifications, also termed as a 'quack,' in Shegaon, Maharashtra. Many locals reportedly trusted him with multiple medical requirements, unaware of his fraudulent activities.
