A few of us follow the resolution all through the year while many give up midway due to lack of motivation. But, what if there was someone to motivate you to keep going? Mark Zuckerberg announced his physical challenge on the 4th of January. In his Facebook post, he announced that he will run one mile (approx 1.6 km) every day for the next 365 days. And he is also urging people to join him. His challenge is called A Year of Running and has set up a public group on Facebook where everyone can discuss their running adventures and he will also post his progress regularly.

Here's his Facebook post-

Here's why you should take up running too!

Running a mile a day in a moderate speed doesn't take more than 10 minutes and is completely doable. We are all aware that running is extremely healthy as it keeps your heart in a good shape and if your New Year's resolution is to lose weight, you must join this challenge. Apart from reducing your risk of heart disease, running is also good for your lungs, It improves your breathing capacity and lung function. It strengthens the muscles of the lungs and enhances their elasticity. Studies have also shown that running releases endorphins (happy hormones) in the body and can uplift one's mood and also help in treating depression. Here are more reasons why you should start running!
