Eddie Jordan Death News: Former Formula One team owner Eddie Jordan breathed his last on Thursday, after battling an aggressive form of prostate cancer. He was 76. According to the reports, the Irishman was suffering from bladder and prostate cancer, which had spread to his spine and pelvis.
"It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Eddie Jordan OBE, the ex-Formula 1 team owner, TV pundit and entrepreneur," his family said in a statement. It further added, "He passed away peacefully with family by his side in Cape Town in the early hours of 20th March 2025 at the age of 76, after battling with an aggressive form of prostate cancer for the past 12 months."

Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers among men, but in its advanced stages, it becomes highly aggressive, often metastasizing to other parts of the body. As per medical reports, Jordan had developed advanced stages of prostate cancer -- which means his cancer had already spread to his bones particularly the spine and pelvis a condition known as metastatic prostate cancer. In Jordan's case, the disease's progression severely impacted his quality of life, making treatment options increasingly limited. Despite undergoing extensive medical care, his condition deteriorated in recent months, ultimately leading to his passing.

Motorsport's governing body, the FIA, described Jordan as a "legend" of Formula One, saying on X that he had made an "invaluable contribution to global motor sport throughout his life".
