According to media reports, Eman Ahmed who was the world's heaviest woman passed away in Abu Dhabi. She has undergone a weight loss surgery in Mumbai earlier this year. It had only been a week that she was celebrating her 37th birthday. According to the report officials from the Burjeel Hospital in Abu Dhabi confirmed the news. She was suffering from a number of conditions including various heart diseases and kidney dysfunctions that caused her death. Widely known as the Egyptian woman, Eman Ahmed Abdelal was admitted in Saifee Hospital in Mumbai had undergone a successful weight reduction surgery on March 7 in India. Eman, 37, weighing nearly 500 kgs was billed as the heaviest woman in the world. She was brought from Alexandria on February 11 for a weight-loss programme which included surgery. The surgery was conducted under the guidance of well-known bariatric surgeon Muffazal Lakdawala. He is the chairman of Saifee Hospital's Institute of Minimal Access Surgical Sciences & Research Centre.
During her 83-day stay in India, Eman had managed to steadily lose kilos and left the country weighing 171 kg. After her long and successful treatment in Mumbai, since February 11, she was then treated at Abu Dhabi's VPS Healthcare. In an unfortunate argument, Eman Ahmed's sister Saimma Selim has allegedly said that Dr Muffazal Lakdawala, who has been treating Eman, is not correct about his updates about Eman's health and recovery, adding that her sister has not recovered at all. "Dr Muffazal Lakdawala is a liar and is not giving right/factual updates about Eman's recovery. Eman has not recovered one bit," Saimma said.
