The above video footage from Liberia shows a person tagged positive for Ebola virus disease (EVD) walking through a busy market, sending hundreds of horrified onlookers fleeing in fear, a media report said Tuesday.

The victim fled from Ebola quarantine facility in the capital Monrovia on Monday, apparently looking for food. The video footage shows the man lashing out angrily at anyone who tries to confront him, The Independent reported.

He was eventually surrounded by healthcare workers and forced inside an ambulance. The patient was being treated at the Elwa hospital, whose Ebola unit is run by the international agency Medicins Sans Frontieres (MSF).
