US President Donald Trump Health Updates: After all the viral videos claiming the US President is living the last 6-7 months of his life, and that his health has significantly deteriorated, pictures have surfaced showing large blotches of makeup on his hand. The visible patch stood out during his appearance at the People's House exhibit in Washington, D.C, and again during Oval Office events, prompting reactions ranging from health concerns to cosmetic critiques.
Although the White House attributes the marks to bruising from frequent handshakes, potentially worsened by aspirin use and an age-related circulation issue, the internet has some other thoughts (and questions).
"Is Donald Trump trying to hide something with that makeup?"
The US President, Donald Trump, has recently been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency, a condition that causes unusual swelling in the lower legs.
However, addressing the media, the White House physician described it as "benign and common," particularly among people in their 70s. We reached out to experts to understand more about the health condition that Trump is suffering from.
"Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI) is a serious and chronic illness wherein the blood flow within the veins get disturbed, causing the veins in the legs to push the blood back up to the heart. It occurs when the valves in the leg veins become weak or damaged, causing blood to pool in the legs instead of returning properly," said Dr Nandini Tripathi, Manipal Hospitals.
White House physician Barbabella has already declared that Trump is in 'excellent cognitive and physical health'. Speaking to the media, Sean Barbabella, admitted that the president has had minor bruising on the back of his hand. "This is consistent with minor soft tissue irritation from frequent handshaking and the use of aspirin, which is taken as part of a standard cardiovascular prevention regimen," he said.
While the illness can cause severe issues in the legs and feet, experts have pointed out the trigger factors behind this unusual health problem. According to the studies, chronic venous insufficiency is mostly caused by damaged or weakened valves in the veins, often due to deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or varicose veins.
