Taking cognizance of the rising speculations about POTUS' deteriorating health problems, Dr. Mimmie Kwong, associate professor of vascular surgery at the University of California, Davis, broke down the different causes, symptoms and dangers linked to the condition shortly after the diagnosis was revealed publicly in July by Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt.

In a press meeting, Leavitt had revealed that the president had been diagnosed with chronic venous insufficiency (CVI). In addition, Levitt also said that the White House physician followed up with a memo on Trump's condition. In the same meeting, Sean Barbarella said that he is in 'excellent condition'.

Barbarella said that US President Donald Trump 'noted mild swelling in his lower legs'. However, tests found no evidence of deep vein thrombosis. There were 'no signs of heart failure, renal impairment, or systemic illness'.

Is Trump Facing Amputation Risk?

"CVI is a common condition. It affects about one in three people in the United States, with cases ranging from mild to severe," she said. When asked about the signs or symptoms of CVI, she noted that most commonly, 'we see swelling in the legs'. Dr Kwong also warned about amputation.

"As the swelling gets worse, it can cause skin changes like thickening or inflammation and dryness of the skin. With worse disease conditions, you can develop unhealing wounds in the legs, and if they get worse, it could lead to amputations," she said.

What Is Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI)?

Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI) is a long-term medical condition that occurs when the veins in the legs cannot efficiently pump blood back to the heart. Normally, valves inside the leg veins keep blood flowing upward against gravity. In CVI, these valves are either damaged or weak, causing blood to pool in the veins, leading to increased pressure and circulation problems.

What Causes This Rare Disease?

As stated by the experts, Chronic Venous Insufficiency (CVI) is a rare condition which affects only 2-3 people in the US, let's know what causes this condition, and what are the signs that say it's worsening.

  1. An unusual swelling in the ankles or legs
  2. Unexplained discomfort and pain in the affected legs - leading to cramping, or a feeling of heaviness
  3. Changes in skin colour and texture
  4. The onset of varicose veins (twisted, enlarged veins)
  5. Leg ulcers (in severe cases)

In some rare and severe cases, or when left untreated, it can lead to skin ulcers, infections, and in rare severe cases, tissue damage that may require amputation.

Is Donald Trump 'Ok'?

These speculations come at a time when US Vice President JD Vance announced that he is ready to assume the role of President of the United States in the event of a 'terrible tragedy'. A few days ago, Donald Trump was spotted with a bruise on his hand during his meeting with South Korean President Lee Jae Myung.
