Diwali is the festival of lights and it also demands you to be at your glowing best. Home remedies like papaya, banana, potatoes, tomatoes can make for great and easy face packs.

Diwali is that time of the year, when you ready yourself not just mentally but also to look your 'festive' best. Here are some face packs for common skin problems and different skin types, so you could cleanse and nourish your skin for the festival of lights.

Banana, honey and yogurt face pack for dry skin

Bananas are a rich source of vitamin and minerals including potassium, manganese, biotin, vitamin C and B6. These vitamins keep the elasticity of your skin intact while antioxidants help prevent ageing. Bananas are also a natural moisturiser and is one of the best ingredients for home-made scrubs and masks.

Steps: For this pack use an overripe banana which is good for dry and mature skin. Take a bowl, mash the banana and add some drops of honey and two tablespoons of plain yogurt in it. Blend all these ingredients into a fine paste and apply it gently on your face and neck area avoiding the area around your eyes. Aleo vera and honey for oily skin
Aleo vera has vital rejuvenating and soothing properties, that is great for your skin. It resolves minor cuts, wounds, rashes and burns instantly. When applied to the skin regularly, aloe vera softens the skin leaving the it feeling soft and smooth. Its anti-inflammatory properties help treat blemishes, acne and other skin problems.
Steps: Oily skin is usually prone to frequent acne breakouts and applying an aloe vera based face pack will only provide relief to your skin. Boil the aloe vera leaf with water and then grind it into a paste. Now add a few drops of honey to this paste and apply it on your face. Rinse it off with cold water after 15 minutes. Potatoe and rose water for clearing blemishes
Rose water is a natural astringent and cleanser for the skin. When and if used with a combination of other complementing ingredients, it can turn out to be an easy remedy for ridding the skin of blemishes and the dullness caused by dark spots. This light mixture helps hydrate the skin, makes it supple and rejuvenates the skin surface.

Steps: Peel a potato and chop it finely. Grind and add three teaspoons of rose water, one teaspoon of honey and a few drops of lemon juice to to make a soft paste. Tomato and potato face pack for skin tan removal

Tomatoes are rich in nutrients like vitamin A, C and K which help slow down the process of skin ageing and is used widely as a whitening and de-tanning agent.

Steps: Take half a ripe tomato and a small piece of peeled potato and crush both of these in a cup. Apply this onto your face and leave it to dry. Wash this off gently with warm water after not more than 15 minutes. This pack is effective for skin lightening as it possess natural bleaching properties.

Papaya, honey and raw milk face pack for anti-ageing treatment

Papaya contains antioxidants like carotenes and vitamin B and C. This helps keep the skin hydrated, leaving the skin's surface absolutely smooth and supple. It is useful for its exfoliation and anti-ageing properties.

Steps: Make a puree from a few pieces of papaya. Add a few drops of honey and a teaspoon of raw milk to this puree and blend them finely. Apply this rich pack on your face and neck. and leave it for a good 15 minutes and wash with water. This pack is amazing for dry skin too.
