Dipa Karmarkar needs no introduction, thanks to her achievements in the field of gymnastics. She has garnered a lot of eye balls in the recent times as she is the 1st Indian woman gymnast to qualify for Olympics. The 23-year-old from Agartala attempted the infamously risky and dangerous Prodonova vault to qualify for the finals at the 2016 Rio Olympics. Known as the death vault, Dipa excelled it with a score of 7.0 on difficulty and 8.1 on execution, getting a step closer to the Olympic medal. Here is a sneak peek into Dipa Karmakar workout and diet regimen.

Looking at this young gymnast perform her stunts, gymnastics might seem simple and interesting. But it is not! Unlike shown on TV, taking flips, landing on a vault, climbing and rolling, gymnastics requires extensive strength and flexibility. To train like a gymnast you need to have an excellent body strength, muscular endurance and agility. With abdominal crunches, pull ups, push ups, headstand, v-sit, rolling and split. One has to also excel in front and back scale which involves balancing the body on a leg with the torso parallel to the floor. It also includes working out on parallel bars and rings. Dipa Karmakar s Diet
