ehradun Hosts Successful 10th World Ayurveda Congress
The much-awaited 10th edition of the World Ayurveda Congress (WAC 2024) and Arogya Expo, a grand event in the serene city of Dehradun, ended on a spectacular note from December 12 to 15. The event made significant strides with business deals estimated at around 150 million USD (approximately 1,275 crores), emphasizing the growing global trend towards Ayurvedic products and wellness solutions. It broke all records and was considered a key touchpoint for Ayurveda professionals, attracting 142 buyers from 30 countries. Around 3,200 B2B discussions happened, carefully managed by the Ayush Export Promotion Council (AYUSHEXIL).
The gathering, centred on the theme "Digital Health: An Ayurveda Perspective," was orchestrated by the World Ayurveda Foundation (WAF), along with the Ayush Ministry of India, the Uttarakhand government, and various Ayurvedic institutions. An impressive 10,321 individuals attended, with 352 international participants from 58 different nations, thus setting a new popularity milestone.
The event featured 172 sessions on significant topics that elevated Ayurveda's global standing. During the congress, representatives from 27 countries presented their insights on Ayurveda at the International Delegates Assembly. The WAF announced an International Association of Associations, marking a significant step towards strengthening Ayurveda's worldwide influence and making us all proud to be part of this global community. Europe Ayurveda Academy Association in the limelight: The Europe Ayurveda Academy Association received the first-ever Ayurvedic institute accreditation outside India.
The Arogya Expo, a massive 100,000-square-foot exhibition, displayed quality products from leading Ayurvedic organizations and attracted 150,000 fascinated visitors. Other notable events included gatherings of traditional healers, industry conclaves like Invest India, an international seminar, an Ayurvedic veterinary conclave enriched with medicinal plant insights, Vriksha Ayurveda, and an Ayurveda film festival. These discussions saw a meeting of the minds, with various experts discussing the importance of Ayurveda in building a holistic healthcare approach to health and environmental challenges.
