Dengue Surge In Gurugram: At Least 175 Cases Confirmed; Prompts Preventive Measures By Officials

More than 175 cases of dengue have been reported from Gurugram as of Friday. Amidst rising cases, the health department has taken up urgent measures to ensure awareness among people. The districts are witnessing a sudden spike in cases despite the measures undertaken by officials. As per the data collected by the district health department and the Municipal Corporation of Gurugram (MCG), the highest number of suspected cases of both dengue and malaria were reported from , Kadipur, Anjana Colony, Manesar and Om Nagar. Patients who have tested positive of dengue and malaria reported symptoms of sweating, high fever, headache, abdominal pain, vomiting, muscles pain and traces of blood in stool. Officials report that cases are rising day by day. Doctors state that the season for dengue haemorrhagic fever may last till December.

Preventive Steps Taken Up By The Vector Control Department

  1. Medical camps have been set up.
  2. Camps are in place at high-rick areas of the city.
  3. Camps are in place in remote areas in an attempt to spread awareness among people.
  4. Doctors have felt and expressed the need to increase the number of beds in the Civil Hospitals.
  5. Officials are spreading awareness through campaigns and SMS.
  6. A separate dengue ward has been set up in Civil Hospitals.
  7. Fogging has been taken up to ensure an end to breeding grounds.
  8. The officials visited about 12.804 thousand houses in the Gurugram district to ensure an end to mosquito larvae.
