After excruciating and exhausting summer heat and intense humidity over the past few days, a humongous storm took several Indian cities under its wing, causing disruptions and delays.
The MeT, early in the evening of May 21, had issued a 'red alert' in many districts while predicting light to moderate rain along with a not-so-intense thunderstorm, and gusty winds. But, as the weather unfurled, it became aggressive and unruly, causing gigantic rains. Hails lashed out in several areas of the country and carried out a shift in the weather, but what it also brought were challenges from the land to the sky.
Several Indian flights, notably the Indigo Flight GE2142 that was flying from Delhi to Srinagar, experienced tumultuous turbulence amid an aggressive hailstorm that encapsulated the Delhi skies.
The insights revealed the horror scenes as lights diminished, seats clattered, and the seat trays went topsy-turvy.

Turbulence during an air flight not only jolts the plane but the minds of the people, and here's how.
Turbulence can trigger a sense of fear or dread, especially for those who already have anxieties about flying. This anxiety can manifest physically (increased heart rate, sweating) and psychologically (panic, dread).

In once-in-a-blue-moon though serious cases, intense turbulence can lead to post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) or acute stress disorder (ASD). Which can intensify the condition and make the affected more vulnerable.
Anxiety that is linked to turbulence can potentially hurt overall mental health, which leads to an uptick in anxiety, and stress, and the likelihood of difficulties with the banal functioning becomes quite high.
In specific cases of unmanageable anxiety or panic, the affected person is advised to consider other crucial parallel diagnoses, like as depression, psychosis, or personality disorders as they may trigger the scope of the grave situation.

Don't focus on the negativity or anything that affects you, but learn to play with your mind through several activities like reading or listening to music, watching a series or doing anything that calms your min,d can help you stay calm and connect when the aircraft jolts.
