Last week alone saw 250 fresh cases of dengue in the capital, taking the total to 780 so far this year, as confirmed by Subhash Arya, South Delhi mayor, on Friday. According to the Municipal corporation officials this year has seen the highest number of dengue cases reported in the last five years. So far, there have been 3 deaths and about 1000 reported cases in the capital. An Indian doctor says papaya leaves can cure dengue!
The mayor said that there have been over 700 cases in August alone. The municipal corporation is taking all sorts of measures to curb the spread of the virus. The Corporation has issued over 80 challans various institutions in the city, including Delhi Development Authority, Jawaharlal Nehru University, Public Works Department and Delhi Transport Authority, among others, as they had mosquitoes breeding in their premises.
