With the failure of the government to curb the spread of swine flu and also make affordable treatment available to common man, the Delhi High Court sought response from the centre and Delhi government on the steps taken to deal with swine flu. A PIL filed through advocate Gaurav Bahl sought directions to make cost effective and affordable tests available to public. A notice was issued to the union health minister, city’s health ministry, civic bodies and the lieutenant governor by the bench of Chief Justice G. Rohini and Justice R.S. Endlaw. The response is expected by March 4. (Read: Swine flu symptoms and signs you MUST be aware of!) Also Read - Ganesh Chaturthi 2020: 4 reasons an eco-friendly Ganesha is good for you

The PIL said that swine flu tests should be conducted at affordable costs and the government should provide more laboratories in the city for the tests. The current cost of the test is Rs.4500 and has to be reduced, and only three labs in Delhi can perform swine flu tests, argued Bahl.
