2017 saw a lot in terms of challenges and games that went viral among kids and teens. Most of these challenges were absurd and deadly. These self-harming, destructive and negative challenges and games have reportedly also taken many lives. Take a look at the viral games and challenges of 2017 that took social media by storm.

Blue whale challenge:

If there you want to know the highest level of mental and physical destruction caused by a game you have to read everything about the blue whale challenge. A game that is led by unknown instructors and grooms kids into ultimately killing themselves. It would involve giving the kids some destructive 'tasks' to complete in a specific time in 50 days. With the progress of the game, the participant would reach the final day that would make them commit suicide and before doing that the participant has to send a proof- like a picture or a video. The challenge has claimed over 130 deaths across the globe.

The Pass Out Challenge:

This challenge was no less than a straight attempt to kill oneself. More famously known as the 'Choking Game' this challenge involved teenager who choking themselves with the purpose of achieving a euphoric high. This near to death experience of depriving themselves of oxygen apparently gave them the 'high' feeling.

Slap-bet challenge

Another challenge that went viral on Snapchat was the slap-bet challenge. According to this challenge, kids would slap other kids, make a video of it and upload it on Snapchat. It became viral in India after a video of a schoolboy being slapped constantly in Noida became viral on all the social media platforms. The boy receiving slaps suffered from a 25 percent hearing loss.

The cinnamon challenge:

Another lame challenge that went viral on the internet was the cinnamon challenge. This involved both adults and teens who participated in it. All they had to do was consume a spoonful of ground cinnamon and push it down the throat in 60 seconds with drinking anything. Goes without saying that the health hazards are many, right from coughing to choking the consequences could even be fatal.

48-hour challenge

According to this challenge, teenagers and kids go missing for two days. They vanish on purpose mostly in small groups, without letting anyone know of their presence for 48-hours straight. They score themselves on how many mentions they get over social media on their missing posts.
