What if you didn't see those models with perfect bodies on the cover of a magazine and the cover had a plus size beauty gracing it? Well in the latest Sports Illustrated issue, plus size model Ashley Graham will appear on the cover in a string bikini. In a statement to The Telegraph the model said, ' I know my curves are sexy and I want everyone else to know that theirs are too. There is no reason to hide and every reason to flaunt.'
But the magazine isn't doing this just to shock its audiences and is instead floating a campaign called 'swimsuits for all' and is meant to be the beginning of the 'curvy girl era' and help women all over the world no matter their shape and size to feel sexy in swimwear. Combined with the hashtag #CurvesInBikinis, the CEO and President of swimsuitsforall says, ' Tastes and body types change over time and curves have never been more "in". There is no better way to celebrate and show off than by donning a bikini. When the Curves in Bikinis ad in Sports Illustrated is released, the world will be watching and they ll like what they see.'
The magazine also released a video showing the curvy model walking in a bikini towards a group of men who were mesmerized by her hot body. As she seductively looks at them and then proceeds to remove her bikini and throw it into the pool.
While it is definitely time to embrace the fact that curves are here to stay, being comfortable in your own body is absolutely essential.
