New Delhi, June 25 (ANI): The Central Reserve Police Force's (CRPF) Northern Sector has reiterated its resolute commitment to maintain internal security and facilitate encouragement of social causes to end various types of menace, including drug menace. A statement issued by the Northern Sector CRPF said that it is organising an awareness drive on the occasion of 'International Day Against Drug Abuse' on Wednesday at India Gate to promote the cause of a drug free society.
Amongst various events/activities planned to be conducted in collaboration with the 'Health Fitness Trust', the 'Slogan March' & the '3 kilometre run' will be quite popular. The event will also provide a platform to children of different categories to showcase their talent and exhibit concern against drug abuse through an art and drawing competition. Twenty handmade posters selected by a distinguished jury will be displayed at the Expo Counter at India Gate. The event will be graced by the presence of various dignitaries.
The CRPF by virtue of its large presence in Delhi and its sheer commitment to various social initiatives will be associating itself with the successful conduct of the events by promoting participation of its officers, men and school children of the CRPF schools in various parts of Delhi, besides providing due logistic support.
The CRPF Band, including the Mahila Band, will also provide rhythmic beats to highlight the spirit of the occasion and message of millions against ever pervading menace of drug abuse.
The CRPF will also be carrying the message and awareness drive to remote locations which are quite vulnerable to this menace like Bawana, Jharodakalan etc. A Nukkad Naatak, movie shows, lectures, counselling by specialist doctors and counsellors against drug abuse also being conducted
