As the fear of the third wave of COVID-19 looms large, the health experts have warned that patients getting infected by the deadliest delta variant of coronavirus have started showing somewhat different symptoms. The delta variant of COVID-19was first identified in India and has become one of the dominant strains of the virus worldwide. It is one of the most highly infectious and contagious variants of coronavirus. According to the experts, the new variant is capable of evading the vaccine-created antibody shield and infect the person severely. However, vaccines can still keep the fatality rate of the infected individuals under control. "Delta is more seen among those who have not got their vaccinations done. Unvaccinated individuals are the biggest carriers of delta COVID-19 variant," experts quoted as saying.

Concerned about the rising number of cases of the highly infectious delta COVID-19 variant, a former Oklahoma State Medical Association President Dr George Monks has warned that the newly identified delta variant "could cause issues like a cough, shortness of breath, a fever, body aches, congestion, and more. You may not get the loss of taste and smell," he adds. "Please get tested if you have these," Dr Monks recently posted on Twitter. Check his tweets here:
