As fear of a third COVID-19 wave looms large, the centre on Tuesday said that the noticeable increase in the numbers of active cases of infection from across the country is concerning. The centre also warned that the pandemic is far from over and in order to contain it, people will have to follow strict rules and regulations. Some of the important things to keep in mind in order to maintain proper pandemic safety protocols are: never forget to wear your mask, do not go out in the crowd, get yourself vaccinated and maintain proper social distancing. The warning comes at a time when India is already dealing with the ferocious second wave of coronavirus and a fear of a possible third wave is lingering.
Meanwhile, India recorded less than 30,000 fresh COVID-19 cases after 132 days while its active caseload fell below 4,00,000 after 124 days on Tuesday. As many as 29,689 new coronavirus infections took the country's tally of COVID-19 cases to 3,14,40,951 while 415 fresh fatalities pushed the death toll to 4,21,382.
