The overall global Covid-19 caseload has topped 167.1 million, while the deaths have surged to more than 3.46 million, according to the Johns Hopkins University.

US continues to be the worst hit country with India coming a close second. In terms of deaths, Brazil comes second after the US with 449,858 fatalities. India occupies third place as far as death toll is concerned. Other nations with a death toll of over 100,000 are Mexico (220,493), the UK (127,986), Italy (125,335), Russia (116,812) and France (108,819).
