India added 25,467 new COVID-19 cases, while the active cases declined to 3,19,551, comprising 0.98 per cent of the total infections, the lowest since March 2020.

As India faces the aftermath of the ferocious second wave of COVID-19, Chief Scientist of the World Health Organisation (WHO) Dr. Soumya Swaminathan on Tuesday said that the country may be entering some kind of stage of endemicity where there is a low or moderate level of transmission going on. Highlighting that the country could enter 'the endemic stage of the pandemic very soon,' Swaminathan said the population must now understand they will have to live with it. The Chief also added that the best way to maintain the low active numbers of coronavirus cases is by maintaining the basic COVID safety protocols.

Meanwhile, India added 25,467 new COVID-19 cases, while the active cases declined to 3,19,551, comprising 0.98 per cent of the total infections, the lowest since March 2020.
