COVID-19 Live Updates: Bharat Biotech's Nasal Vaccine Gets Nod For Holding Trials
As active cases in parts of India is witnessing a rise for a few weeks now, Mumbai recorded its first death due to the deadly Delta Plus variant. According to the reports, a 63-year-old woman, infected with the Delta plus variant of Covid-19, died on Thursday. Delta which was first identified in India has now mutated to form a highly transmissible variant Delta Plus. Experts have claimed that if a third wave hits India then it would be due to the contagious Delta variant.
Meanwhile, India logged 41,195 new coronavirus infections taking the total tally of COVID-19 cases to 3,20,77,706, while the active cases increased to 3,87,987. The active cases increased after registering a decrease for five consecutive days. They now comprise 1.21 per cent of the total infections, the ministry said, adding the national COVID-19 recovery rate stands at 97.45 per cent. Follow this space for more such updates on COVID-19.
