COVID-19 Live Updates: Second Wave In Goa Not Over Yet, Third Wave Expected After Ganesh Chaturthi
It is been more than a month now since the ferocious second wave of COVID-19 started subsiding in some parts of India. However, as restrictions were lifted, there were speculations of a third wave. Bangalore-based scientists have warned that Karnataka could see seven times more positive cases in children this time in comparison to the second wave. "Third-wave can only be averted in government increases the pace of COVID-19 vaccinations and ensure that people are following proper COVID-19 safety protocols - such as wearing masks, social distancing and hand sanitization," the experts were quoted as saying.
Meanwhile, India added 42,766 new COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours, taking the tally to 32.9 million cases. According to the data, the total number of fatalities in the country rose by 308 to 440,533. Follow this space for all the COVID-19 updates.
