Active Cases On An Increase In India With 42,618 New Infections
India registered 42,618 new Covid-19 cases in the last 24 hours on Saturday morning, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 3,29,45,907 since the epidemic began in January of last year.
The new cases are 6.02 per cent fewer than the 45,352 illnesses reported on Friday. After 330 deaths in less than 24 hours, the death toll has risen to 4,40,225. For the fourth day in a row, the active caseload grew, reaching 4,05,681 cases. In the last day, the number of active cases has climbed by 5,903. To date, a total of 3,21,00,001 persons have been cured of the condition. Currently, the overall recovery rate is 97.43 per cent. In the previous 24 hours, the country's test positivity rate was 2.50 per cent, while the weekly positivity rate was 2.63 per cent. The number of samples from the daily batch that test positive is known as the test positivity rate. According to the Union health ministry, the weekly positive rate has been less than 3% for the past 71 days.
According to official estimates, 58,85,687 persons received Covid-19 vaccinations on the previous day. So far, a total of 67,72,11,205 people in the country have been vaccinated against the disease.
