It's that time of the year when you can gear up for all things and Christmas is no exception. It's also the time to update your makeup looks and styles so you get 'Christmas-ready!' We chalk out 4 such looks that you can sport this season:
Irrespective of the what festival it is, everybody looks forward for a shimmery tone of makeup to simply look as glamorous as they can. This metallic or shimmery champagne for the eyes with some smoking red lipstick shade, shouldn't be given a miss in any case.
Steps:
To begin with, you'd want to start with an absolutely clean and dewy base for this look as suggested by the 'Made In Chelsea' star Binky Felstead. You could use a foundation with a radiating finish with a brush or fingers for application. Apply a correcting concealer to cover up those blemishes and apply it in a lighter proportion so it doesn't look too caked-up on your face.
Set the look before you proceed with a translucent powder, which is lightweight and comes with a slight shimmer.
As for the eyes, first give it a coating of white eye shadow with a light sweep on the eyelids. Then proceed with using a champagne shade all over your lids to set in as a base colour. Use a glitter-based shadow in the same shade using your fingertip very softly, not dipping in too much of it. Just dab this right on the centre of your eyelids.
Use a smooth eyeliner on your lids to complete the shimmery look. Apply the liner close to your lash line. Finally, use a mascara wiggling the brush right up from the root to the tip for an elaborate or the big-eyes appearance. You could also use a brow palette to fill in your eyebrows for a thicker look. Dab some cream bronzer under your cheekbones and blend well with your in your fingers. Finish this with a highlighting cream right in the centre of your cheekbones for a glowing appearance.
Ditch the usual nude lips and be daring enough to go with the classy ruby red or berry toned lips. Apply one layer and blot it with a tissue and apply the second layer. You could use a moisture lipstick or a liquefied one.
Nude eyes with fiery red lips

There are some looks that you simply cannot ditch and the subtle eyes with bright red lips is one such look.
Make-up artist Palak Bhalla instructs us how to get this look, 'Get started with a light beige eye shadow all over your eyes and next, go on to a shade darker in the same tone around the corner of your eyes.
She suggests to go simple and light with a finely put eyeliner for the lash line and it's best to complement the look with strip false (natural look) lashes. 'Don't forget using some mascara do the lashes blend in naturally, ' explains Palak.
'For a radiant looking skin, add an illuminator to the preferred liquid foundation and set face with some powder,' advises Palak.

Since the rest of the look is very basic and nude you should go with a prominent lip shade, anything like a coral, tomato or fiery red.
Smokey silver-grey with plum lips
Simply replace the black tone with a grey shade and stick to a dark colour for the lips. This is a bolder look and looks as glamourous.
Do up your foundation regime first and be cautious of not overdoing it. Here are some make-up mistakes you should avoid.
Once done, shift focus to the eye makeup and pick a dark grey colour. Palak advises, 'Put the dark grey color shadow in the socket line of the eye and blend it upwards to well-define the shape of your eyes. As for the eyelids, apply a silver white eyeshadow and pop some silver glitter right at the centre of the eye to keep up with the festive look.'
Defining the eyes with some eyeliner is a must. Palak says, 'To do up this look into a dramatic one, opt for the winged eyeliner technique and use some fake strip lashes if you wish to. Don't miss out on mascara.'
There is nothing wrong in having some colour on your cheeks and you could either go in for a sweet plum blush or a matte pale hue for a sober look as suggested by Palak.
Add some glamour to your lips in a shade of plum or with one with a peachy tone to it.
Green hues and bright peach lips
It's Christmas and you can definitely go all out with the colours to maintain the theme. Palak suggests a fun look with green smokey eyes with a pop of peachy pink lipstick. This is definitely a different way to sport the look for the season and is all about colours.
This look requires the eyes to be dramatic and well highlighted hence, Palak says it's best preferable to use matte foundation with a pale tan blush on cheeks.
Palak advises, 'Begin with using a black eyeshadow on the corners of eyes and use either a dark emerald shade or brighter hue on the eyelid. Blend this well with the black for an infused look. Dab some white metallic shadow right on the nooks or inner corners of your eyes.
Use a soft gel liner on the lash line and smudge it to create a softer finish. This will make your eyes look bigger and brighter. Further, use some individual lashes and curl these lashes with a clamp. Once done, blend well with mascara.
On the water line, use a white liquid/water and a black gel liner in the lower lash line. Smudge this a little for a natural appearance.
