Chris Rea, the famous voice for Driving Home for Christmas, and Josephine has passed away after a brief illness. He was 74 and this news of his death was confirmed by one of his family members. Even though there is no official cause of death, he went through a lot of health issues. It started in 2000 when he was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and had to get it removed in the same year.He passed away peacefully in hospital earlier today following a short illness, surrounded by his family and this statement was given by his wife and children.
He was dealing with a lot of health issues, but still continued to work. Moving forward to 2016, he also had a stroke that affected his movement of arms and fingers and slurred speech. Chris's Family, who is grief-stricken at the moment, said,"It is with immense sadness that we announce the death of our beloved Chris". Rea has always been a legend and it almost feels like an end of an era where he has contributed a lot to the industry and released 25 studio albums, and some of his well known songs are the road to hell, Home for Christmas and Josephine. Not only this but he was successful in selling 30 million albums in his decades-long career.
