Celebrity nutritionist and author, commonly known as the Nourishment Genie , Pooja Makhija unveiled her second book EAT. DELETE. JUNIOR last evening in Delhi at Olive Bar & Kitchen with Shweta Bachchan. Published by Harper Collins, Eat.Delete.Junior focuses on how parents can teach their kids healthy food habits, shedding light on how a child s palate develops, methods to keep junk food at bay and the habits needed to prevent ill-health and obesity. Woven through fables and fairytales, this book is the much-desired parenting guide that helps them emerge victorious over the ultimate child- rearing battleground - the Dinner Table. At the event, the best selling author Pooja Makhija was in conversation with the experienced mother of two, Shweta Bachchan and Jamaal Sheikh, a renowned name in the media industry where they discussed the importance of eating right from the very beginning. This was followed by some fun games including a rapid fire round and a spot the lie exercise where both the guests had to identify which of the statements made by Pooja on children s nutrition were false.
Speaking at the launch in Delhi at Olive Bar & Kitchen, Pooja Makhija said, Whether it s Shweta or me, as mothers, we all share the same anxieties when it comes to our children s nutritional needs. Having worked with so many adults and children with serious health issues and eating disorders, I cannot stress enough on the importance of inculcating good eating habits from the very start. Commenting on the book, Shweta Bachchan Nanda said, There is no better person to write about child nutrition than someone who is both a nutritionist and a mother herself. Other well-wishers and supporters present at the event included Caroline Young, Anjana Kuthiala and Pooja Gupta. The book is available in paperback and kindle editions for INR 299.
