Cancer death rates in Britain on the decline

According tothe reports on a leading British daily, death rate from cancer in Britain are set to fall by almost 17 percent by 2030. The main reason for the change is better diagnosis and treatment, according to the charity Cancer Research UK.

But the improved outlook is also said to reflect the fact that fewer people are smoking. In 2010, an estimated 170 people in every 100,000 members of the population died from cancer. Over the next 17 years, this is forecast to fall to 142 per 100,000.
