Coitus interruptus or pulling it out before ejaculation is often used by couples as a contraceptive method or to prevent unwanted pregnancies but is it safe? First off yes, for those of you too lazy to read ahead, precum can cause pregnancies.
The debate about precum has been raging for a long time does it contain sperm which can cause pregnancies or not? Technically speaking, precum is released the moment a guy gets an erection and its main job is to clean out the inside of the urethra the tube that carries semen in the penis. Precum's job is to make the urethra's environment less acidic so that sperm has a better chance of fertilising the egg.
Now while precum DOES NOT contain spermatozoa, it can however pick up leftover sperm in the urethra and deposit it out of the penis. This makes coitus interreptus or pulling out an unsafe contraceptive method. So it's better to be safer than sorry and wear a condom instead of relying on a method like withdrawing in time. We should also mention that the STDs and HIV can also be transmitted through precum.
