California Teacher Succumbs To Rabies Infection After Getting Bitten By A Bat
A 60-year-old art teacher from California died after getting bitten by a bat in the classroom. California health officials have confirmed that she was infected with rabies infection one month after the incident. As per the Public Health Department, the woman was bitten by a bat in Merced County, California. The deceased was later identified as 60-year-old Leah Seneng, a teacher at Byrant Middle School in Dos Palos Laura Splotch. The woman got bitten by a bat when she was trying to scoop it up an take it outside safely.
The woman reportedly did not suffer form any symptoms in the days following the attack. But, after a month she seriously fell ill and was taken to the hospital by her daughter. She was immediately out into a coma by the health officials. Reports say that she succumbed to the infection Four days later, on November 22nd.
