British actor Richard Johnson dies at 87

Richard Johnson passed away at the Royal Marsden Hospital in Chelsea, west London, on Saturday, reports was 87. He suffered from a short illness.

Johnson was a founding member of the Royal Shakespeare Company, and played several lead roles, including Romeo and Mark Anthony in 'Julius Caesar'.

He featured in many films, including the 2008 movie 'The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas', 'Lara Croft: Tomb Raider' and 'Khartoum' in 1966.

Johnson's TV credits include 'Doc Martin', 'Silent Witness' and 'Midsomer Murders'.

He is survived by his wife Lynne, whom he married in 2004, and his four children.
