Boxing legend Muhammad Ali passes away at 74 due to respiratory ailments

This is a sad day in the history of sports and boxing. The fraternity loses one of the best heavy weight champion and a boxing legend. His achievements are what made him synonymous to the word boxing. But as they say no one can defy age and the problems that it brings along with it. It was learnt that he was suffering from respiratory ailments and needed live support just hours before leaving for heavenly adobe.

His death was confirmed by his family spokesperson Bob Gunnell. However the US press also reports that the legend was hospitalised a number of times before but came out clean fighting the health woes like a pro fighter. Early in the 80s he was also diagnosed with Parkinson s disease a neurological condition that effects movement, memory and speech. However, in the recent past the boxer was also hospitalised for pneumonia and urinary tract infections. This shows that age and health ailments were catching up with the titan of boxing. On Friday night the legend breathed his last breath and left the entire country mourning over his loss. Ali was known not only for this punches inside the ring but also for the way he conducted and spoke out of the ring. It was his charismatic persona that made him a world favourite.
