Bizarre - British woman allergic to water!

A 27-year-old British woman suffers from an extremely rare condition where she is allergic to water and even her tears and perspiration. Katie Dell - a resident of Flint, North Wales - suffers from aquagenic urticaria, a rare syndrome that has affected just 35 people in the whole world, the Daily Mail reported.

Dell cannot cry because her own tears bring out a painful rash. A bath triggers burning inflammation and she even gave up a job as dance teacher because her perspiration caused a painful reaction on her skin. "Sometimes I feel like a prisoner in my own home. I have days where I want to crawl into bed and cry but of course, I can't. Someone said I could die from it but I don't want to know about my life expectancy. Until they find a cure I just have to live with it. I'm taking each day as it comes," Dell said.

Dell's symptoms began at 16 when she had her tonsils removed. Her 32-year-old husband, Andy, has given up his job as a delivery driver to be her full-time carer. There is currently no known cure for the condition but Dell is trialling a new drug to try to control her condition.
