Here is how you can sport a short hairstyle too:

Colour crazy

Short hair is a style which makes it easier to maintain and is absolutely fuss-free. It's an ideal hairstyle to sport daring colours and hence change the way your hair looks completely. Some colours which are great options for short hair are:copper red, two tones with dirty blonde and light ash grey; violet, auburn brown with blond highlights, tri-colour with copper, chestnut and red and the dark magenta shade.

Layers and cuts

You may be keen on doing away with your long hair but sporting the short style can come with its challenges too. It's preferable that you decide on a haircut that suits the texture of your hair and enhances your personality and your body frame too. Make-up and hairstylist Marissa Rodrigues suggests, It s great to have more layers for an absolutely chic look if you have thick hair. Straight and sleek

It's always easier to maintain the texture of your hair when short, provided you use the right haircare products regularly for silky and smooth hair. Celebrity hairstylist Savio John Pereira suggests,'Forstraight short hair, it is best to let it dry naturally, using some serum for extra shine.'

Frizz-free hair

Savio says, For short wavy hair, you may use a leave in conditioner and leave it to dry. Avoid blow drying as it may leave your hair frizzy, or simply scrunch using a small amount of mousse.

Spunky short hairstyles

Curls bring in so much texture and great character to your hair and look. With curls, you could either go for loose and soft wavy curls or tight ones from curling tongs. You can make this look different every time you do the basic curling or when setting your hair into waves.

Steps:

  1. First comb your hair into a centre parting. The centre parting helps the hair appear fuller on the face.
  2. Roll up the tip of your backward till you reach just below the scalp.
  3. As per your preference of tight curls or soft waves, you can either leave the curls as they are after using the tong or brush them to loosen up the curls. The more you use a comb, the softer the curls will turn.
  4. To accessorise, use a headband or pin on both sides with embellished hair clips for a dressy look.

Twisted hair

The braiding and twisting hairstyles have simply taken over the hairstyling trends, this season. The shoulder-length or above haircuts could carry off the twists and twirls too. Here is how you can have your hair all twisted within a few minutes.

Steps:

  1. Begin with parting your hair to one side. Take a section, not too thick, in your hand.
  2. Once you have decided the volume you want for the twist, begin twisting it tightly and quickly reaching the back of your head.
  3. Pin the twisted section with invisible hair pins or you could go for bright accessories.
  4. Switching to the other side, twist your hair similarly and pin it at the same place, neatly.
