Heavy rains to lash Bengaluru: IMD has issued a yellow alert for Tuesday for 15 districts in the state. More widespread rain is expected across most of South Interior Karnataka, while light showers are likely throughout the week in many districts in coastal and North Interior Karnataka.

Bengaluru Weather Warning: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow weather warning for Bengaluru and multiple other districts in Karnataka. As per the weather department, heavy rainfall accompanied by strong winds, lightning, and thunderstorms is expected to hit Bengaluru today (April 14).
In its latest weather warning the IMD stated -"Bengaluru residents can expect spells of thunderstorms for April 14 and 15, accompanied by lightning and squally winds." Simultaneously, heavy rainfall is expected to impact Tamil Nadu and Kerala over the next few days.
5-day weather forecast for Bengaluru - IMD has shared a five-day weather forecast for Bengaluru, highlighting the likelihood of cloudy skies accompanied by light showers. On the 15th, 16th, and 17th of April, the weather body predicted a generally cloudy sky with light rain in the city. Additionally, the maximum temperatures are expected to reach 33 degrees Celsius during these days. Thereafter, on the 18th and 19th of April, there is a possibility of rain and partly cloudy sky, respectively.

As Bengaluru, Tamil Nadu, and Kerala is set to witness heavy downpours tonight, let's take a quick look at some of the health tips that need to be followed for safety:
Drink filtered water
Keep all the necessary medications handy
Stock up on fresh foods, whole grains, and protein sources such as eggs, paneer, tofu, etc.
Make sure to keep your umbrella, and raincoats handy in you are going out - do not get soaked in rainwater.
Make sure to wash all the fruits and vegetables before consuming.
Avoid leafy vegetables
Keep basic amenities like a torch, and a power bank handy - heavy rains and lightning can often lead to power cuts.
Try to stay indoors as going out could be unsafe at this time.
