The two year old baby Falak lost her battle with life today at 9.40 PM at AIIMS. She suffered from a cardiac arrest, AIIMS doctors said on Thursday. She was fighting brain and chest infections after being admitted to the hospital on January 18 with human bite marks and head injuries.
"The baby died of cardiac arrest. She suffered cardiac arrest at 9 p.m. and was declared dead at 9.40 p.m," Deepak Agrawal, assistant professor neurosurgery at AIIMS, told IANS. "She was doing quite well for sometime. But today (Thursday) we observed some fluctuations in her heart rate," he added. According to Agrawal, the baby's heart had weakened due to two previous cardiac arrests.
She was hospitalized in AIIMS since the last three months. She underwent six operations in this period. In recent news, she was supposed to be discharged as her health was getting stable. So, this news comes as a shocker for all Indians who kept her in her prayers.
