Himanta Biswa SarmaAssam's Health and Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma offered to resign on Sunday, but said that he would remain in office till his resignation is accepted. He said the ball was now in Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi's court. Sarma said the 47 MLAs who have backed him, would go back to their constituencies with renewed vigour to work for the masses. He also announced plans to launch several schemes for the good of the people. It maybe recalled that Sarma had offered to resign on two previous occasions.
