The army in Jammu and Kashmir concluded a first-aid training programme for youths of a remote mountainous village of Poonch district to ‘help those who may require medical assistance in any given or unforeseen situation’. An army spokesman said a group of 20 youths from Daraba village 220 km north-west of Jammu was given six days' training. ‘The aim of the training was to increase medical awareness among the people of backward areas and help them in adopting healthier life style and reduce morbidity rate’ the spokesman said.
