Two docs in a private hospital in Dhankot village near Gurgaon were booked after medical negligence after the death of a patient. The aggrieved family members and several others went ona rampage, blocking the Gurgaon-Jajjar road for an hour and even ransacked the hospital and set it on fire. The deceased was a 42-year old who was admitted to Shree Krishna Hospital after complaining of chest pain.

According to the patient's brother, the patient was first taken to a clinic and then admitted to the hospital. The on-call docs Dr R K Mishra and Dr Y S Gautam kept on treating the patient even as his condition worsened while ignoring suggestions to have him moved to a bigger hospital in Gurgaon.

"Around 9.30am I was informed by the doctors that my brother had died," said Charan Singh.

As news of the patient's death spread his kin and other villagers gathered in front of the hospital, accusing the docs of negligence and starting vandalising the hospital and even set it on fire!

As the staff and other doctors sneaked out, the villagers destroyed medical equipment and furniture and only stopped when a police team assured them at appropriate action would be taken. "We have lodged an FIR against Dr R K Mishra and Dr Y S Gautam on charges of negligence during the treatment. We are searching for them and will arrest them soon," police said.
