Amitabh Bachchan takes up ‘maternal and child mortality’ awareness campaign in AP

Megastar Amitabh Bachchan is once again standing up for a health cause. After successfully creating awareness for polio eradication, he took up many causes like head injuries, and tuberculosis and created awareness about them. This time around he is taking part in ‘maternal and child mortality’ awareness campaign of Andhra Pradesh Government. Health Minister, Kamineni Srinivas informed that the Principal Secretary (Health) will visit Bachchan in Mumbai, with regard to the campaign.
The Government had earlier announced the 72-year-old popular actor, who is brand ambassador for polio eradication campaign in India, would be helping the State to highlight health issues. The Minister also informed that a foundation stone for the proposed AIIMS-like institution in Andhra Pradesh would be laid next month and Union Minister J P Nadda will be laying the foundation of the proposed institution which will be based in the Vijayawada-Guntur region.
